April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day - Wear blue to show your support and to raise awareness for Autism!
What is Autism?- Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first two years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain, impacting development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Both children and adultson theautism spectrum typically show difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities.
How common is it? - In 2007, the CDC reported that 1 in 150 children is diagnosed with Autism.
My daughter, Isabella, is one of these 1 in 150 children. So in honor of her, 15% of our site sales for the month of April will be donated to Light It Up Blue. AND we are offering 10% off of all Pink and Purple Eyeshadow shades in honor of Isabella. Pink and Purple are her favorite colors and she won't wear anything else :D
